When can you get pregnant

If you are reading this article you are probably on the hunt for the stork and want to know everything about when to have intercourse to always stay and the fertile period. Dear future mother, you are in the right place, below you will find all the answers on the fertile days of the woman and when you can stay quickly, let's start…. Conception is determined by the encounter of a male spermatozoon with the female oocyte, but this meeting occurs only on certain days of the menstrual cycle called fertile days.

When is a woman most fertile

When we talk about the menstrual cycle we refer not only to the days of menstruation but to the whole hormonal cycle that is repeated every month in the female reproductive system. The menstrual cycle has the task of preparing the female body for the onset of pregnancy and consists of three different phases:

  • follicular

  • ovulatory

  • secretory

Understanding how the menstrual cycle works means recognizing the fruitful days to conceive. The menstrual cycle starts counting from the 1st day of menstruation which represents the first day of the cycle.

Follicular phase

During the follicular phase, the female body prepares for possible conception and the onset of pregnancy. The ovaries produce and release a follicle in the fallopian tubes that can be fertilized by a sperm. At the same time, the uterine walls become soft and rich in nourishment to accommodate a potential fertilized oocyte.

Ovulatory phase

In the ovulatory phase, the follicle is released from the ovary in the direction of the corresponding tube. The release of the follicle is the best time to get pregnant and to make love with the aim of conceiving. Inside the fallopian tube, the spermatozoa present can fertilize the egg causing pregnancy. If conception occurs, the fertilized oocyte ends its journey inside the uterus where it nestles, allowing the embryo to grow.

Secretory phase

If there has been no conception, menstruation is the final phase of the menstrual cycle, in fact, since there has been no pregnancy, the soft pad of the uterus flakes off and is expelled and everything starts all over again. It is clear that knowing the exact days in which the egg becomes fertilizable and having sex on the fertile days is very likely the conception of a child.

How many days before your period do you ovulate

Normally the menstrual cycle lasts 28, 30 days although it must be emphasized that having longer or shorter cycles is absolutely not a problem to conceive, for the calculations it is only necessary to move forward or back the fertile period to stay and stay. Let's take an example with a 28 day cycle. The follicular phase lasts 13-14 days Ovulation occurs on day 14 which represents the fertile day in which there is an egg ready to be fertilized. During the ovulatory phase, the oocyte from the ovary passes into the tube, where it can be fertilized by the sperm. So the days in which to have intercourse correspond to those in which the egg cell travels the tube towards the uterus. To be sure of the fertile days at the limit you can use the tests for ovulation.

The most favorable days to have intercourse to conceive must also take into account the sperm life span. The spermatozoa retain their ability to fertilize the egg for a minimum of two days to a maximum of 5 days but, generally after 72 hours, they tend to lose part of the motility that allows them to enter the female egg.

How many days after your period are you fertile

  • From the three days before ovulation

  • The day of ovulation

  • The day after ovulation

If you have a cycle longer than 28 days it will be sufficient to add the number of extra days. So if you have a 30 day cycle you will ovulate on day 16. If you have a 32 day cycle you will ovulate on day 18.

When are you most fertile

On day 14, the ovary releases the egg that is now ready and ripe to be fertilized. The ripe egg is immediately captured by the tuba. These are the ideal days to have intercourse, in fact, considering that the spermatozoa have an average life of about 3 days, that the egg cell remains fertile 6-24 hours it is advisable to have intercourse on:

  • 12th

  • 13th

  • 14th

  • 15th

  • cycle day.

So the days to get pregnant are:

  • Two days before ovulation;

  • The day of ovulation;

  • Two days after ovulation.

This calculation can also be applied in reverse. Refrain from having intercourse during those days to avoid becoming pregnant. Intercourse after ovulation, especially if after 24-48 hours of ovulation it has little chance of fertilizing.

Patterns that are too rigid to have relationships with the aim of fertilizing the egg can have negative repercussions from an emotional point of view, depriving sex of spontaneity and increasing stress. The motility of spermatozoa is improved by a satisfying and satisfying sexual relationship for both partners, as also demonstrated by the fact that during ovulation there is a physiological increase in sexual desire favored by pheromones. So the advice is to have intercourse within the woman's five fertile days but without excessive stress and without calculations in the morning or in the evening and how often.
